The easiest option would be to get a new USB Adapter they are really cheap Which Adapter does your Computer use? First uninstall the current driver and make sure you delete the driver as well when given the option dww1525, reboot then try to install the driver I have provided.

You have stated your Drivers are up to date Do you remember what the error was for Windows Update?
