It has a lot of range and the controls are extremely sensitive so there's a bit of a learning curve to it but once you get the hang of it you can get some very, very fat and juicy sounds from it. The VT is probably the most aggressive of the bunch, the most "rock". Maybe in the next couple months I'll run into some money and just buckle down to get the B7K.

I bounce from bass, to synth, to slide bass and now even some guitar all through the same rig. But it's basically a Bass Driver DI with a more neutral voice, a parametric midrange control, but no presence control. I loved the BDDI, especially once i found the magic spot on the blend control.

I've had amps crap out on me house amps, both Ampegs, oddly enough! Don't be a wuss - go on and get the 8 space case. I have no reason, though, to suspect that this one would be any less well constructed. That damned thing can even make ME sound good sometimes!
